John 15:5 NLT
“Yes, I am the True Vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

God's desire for us is to live a blessed life. His plan in doing so, is for us to remain connected to Him, the source of all blessing. The example that Jesus uses in John 15 compares our relationship with Him to a grapevine.

The grapevine is not able to control the weather or environment that it has to grow in, just like we are not able to control the circumstances we go through or the world around us. Jesus is telling us that as long as we remain in Him, in His word, we will be blessed, grow, produce fruit, and thrive regardless of our circumstances.

It's important for us to remember that when everything seems to be going well for us in life we give God, the source of that blessing, all the glory He deserves. When life is rough and we are going through trials, we need to remember that He is the answer and source of who we need to remain in and rely upon. True blessing comes when we are Christ-sufficient and we remain in Him.
