God’s best idea is people and His design for us is to be in good relationship with Him and each other. We sometimes dream about life on a deserted island, with no-one to bother or hurt us, but isolation isn’t the solution.

When we learn how to build healthy relationships, we enjoy the benefits and the blessings that they bring. Healthy relationships change families and communities. When we decide to lower our expectations and raise our tolerance of others, we experience the grace-zone of a blessed life. Loving people isn’t always easy but choosing to do so is the best decision we can make.

The Bible talks about this in Matthew 5:9 [NLT], “God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” We have been created in the image of God and He has given us the ability to work for peace in our relationships. "To know is to love" are words I choose to live by. When there is tension in a relationship, it’s time to find out why.

I want to encourage you to do everything within your ability to understand the people in your world. Let’s make 2016 a year of blessing and reconciliation as we choose to love one another as Jesus loves us!
