When Jacob was Awakened, his immediate response was a desire to give an offering to God.
Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God. And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.”
Gen 28:20 -22
Just as Jacob made a vow to give to God, every year we have the opportunity to make a faith commitment to contribute to our annual Vision Offering, over and above our normal tithes or donations.
We encourage you to prayerfully consider what you could give between now and December 31st, knowing that it’s our faith and generosity that will determine what we can do together as a church, and it’s the measure that God uses to multiply the seed we sow!
Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
