Memorial Day Weekend at Newport Church

Hi Newport Church Family,

We trust that you have had a blessed and faith-filled week!

It’s Miracle May and it’s hard to believe that we are only a few days away from the end of the month. We’re continuing to pray and believe for Miracles so please let us know if you have any stories to share. We would love to hear them and know that others will be greatly encouraged by your story.

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and we will be taking time in our service to honor those who gave their lives for our country so that we can enjoy the freedom that is ours today. My message will be on “Honor, the key that opens the door to Miracles” and I’m praying that it will be both faith-building and inspiring for each one of us.

Next week is the final week of our devotional “Have Faith!” and you can access it with the QR code on the Miracle card we mailed to you, or you can click on the link here.

On May 31st, which is Pentecost Sunday, we will be celebrating the day when the early church was birthed in explosive power and we will also be giving our annual miracle vision offering.

Please take time to pray and ask God what He would have you give. Our prayer is that every one of us will participate and do our part so that together we can do something extraordinary and that God will supernaturally multiply the seed each one of us sows.

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to work together to help people and make a difference in our world. We are praying and believing that as we emerge out of this season people’s hearts will be more open and receptive to God and His word, than we have ever seen in our day.

We look forward to you joining us on Sunday at 10 am and connecting through the many zoom call opportunities we have available during the week.

We love and appreciate you all greatly,

Praying for Miracles Through the Month of May!

Hi Newport Church Family,

We hope you had a faith-filled week and are experiencing God’s grace for this season!

It’s Miracle May and we’re believing together for God to do extraordinary things in our house, our neighbor's house and God’s house.

Charles Spurgeon said, “To pray is to enter the treasure-house of God and to gather riches out of an inexhaustible storehouse.” As we pray and ask God to move on our behalf this month let’s remember that prayer is not laying hold of God’s reluctance but rather laying hold of His willingness!

We hope you have been able to join us for our weekly devotional “Have Faith!” and that these have been both inspiring and faith-building.

Over the last two weeks, our focus and reflections have been on how we can have an “Ever Increasing Faith” and on how we navigate the tension between “Facts and Faith”.

You can access those and our latest weekly devotionals with the QR code on the Miracle card we mailed to you, or you can click on the link here.

A big thank you to all those who have sown their time, talent and treasure in this season. We are making a difference together! We want to continue to be a storehouse that can provide for the needs of our church family and our community.

As we pray together and ask God to move miraculously in our lives, I’m reminded that the miracle is in the seed. Within every seed lies potential for exponential growth and multiplication.

Within one seed lies the potential for an orchard or a forest. Jesus spoke about the multiplication of seed in many of his parables, including the sowing of His own life as a Seed that would bring the rich harvest of salvation to the world.

The miracle is not in the fruit, it’s in the seed! Paul highlights this when he speaks about God’s promise to multiply the seed that we sow.

Let’s keep sowing like Isaac did in the midst of the famine, and reaped that same year one hundredfold. When we take care of the sowing, God takes care of the growing!

A reminder that on Sunday May 31st the last day of Miracle May we will be giving our annual Miracle Vision Offering. Our prayer is that this will be a significant and supernatural offering which will not only enable us to help many more people but that God will miraculously multiply the seed each one of us sows.

Let’s take time to pray in the coming weeks about what God would have each one of us do, remembering God’s promise, “whoever sows generously will also reap generously” 2 Corinthians 9:6

We look forward to you joining us on Sunday at 10 am and connecting through the many zoom call opportunities we have available during the week.

We love and appreciate you all greatly,

Happy Miracle May and Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Moms both natural and spiritual!

We are so thankful for you all and we will be taking time with some special moments to honor you in our Sunday service this weekend.

We hope you have been able to join us for our weekly devotional “Have Faith!” and that these have been both inspiring and faith-building.

Last week our focus and reflections were on how we can have an “Ever Increasing Faith” and this week’s reflection is on “Facts and Faith”.

You can access the devotional with the QR code on the Miracle card we mailed to you, or you can click on the link here.

We are continuing to do all that we can to help those in need both within our church family and our community, all of which is only possible because of your generosity.

Thank you for your faithfulness in partnering with us, we are making a difference together in these challenging days.

On May 31st the last day and Sunday of Miracle May we will be giving our annual Miracle Vision Offering. Our prayer is that this will be a significant and supernatural offering that will not only enable us to help many more people but that God will miraculously multiply the seed each one of us sows.

Miracle May Begins!

Hi Newport Church family,

We hope you are continuing to experience God’s grace for this season. It’s hard to believe that it’s May already and we are into our eighth weekend of “Churchat Home” online services!

It’s been so good to hear all the reports of God’s faithfulness in these weeks.

We have a great sense that God is doing something significant in these times to bring us all into a new season. May has always been a month, for us as a church, when we have a special focus on God’s ability to work miraculously in our house, our neighbors house and in God’s house.

It’s also a time when we focus on God’s willingness to answer our prayers in miraculous ways. God is not only able, He is willing!

We hope you received your miracle cards in the mail this week. If you did not please let us know here and we can send them to you. Let’s take time to prayerfully write down what we are asking God to do, put the card in our Bible or somewhere we will see it every day, and ask God to work miraculously in our lives.

There is also a magnet enclosed and a card that you can put on your fridge.

It has a link to our weekly devotionals that we will post each Monday morning in May, which we hope you can join us for.

Remember how James said, ”you do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:3), and John says “we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know He hears us when we make our requests, we also  know that He will give us what we ask for.” 1 Jn 5:14-15

And Jesus gives us the key to asking for what pleases Him, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7

Tomorrow we will be giving an update in our online service on all that we were able to do to help people in our church and greater community with our April vision offering. We will also have the opportunity do so again as we give our May Vision offering. You can click on this link here if you would like to do so now.

Let’s pray and believe that this will be a month of Miracles in every way and that as our cities begin to reopen we will reenter this season with great hope, faith, and supernatural provision.

We love and appreciate you greatly,

Trusting in God in an Unprecedented Season

Hi Newport Church family,

We trust you had a hope and faith filled week as we continue to navigate these difficult times together.

It’s hard to believe that we are now in our seventh week of “Church at Home” online services!

Tomorrow I will be speaking about “The Weeks Between” and how we can navigate these weeks, coming out of them better, stronger and wiser. I hope you can join us at 10am and that the message and service will both inspire and encourage you.

We are so thankful for all who have partnered with us as a voice of hope and faith and a storehouse and resource to our church family and community. Next week we will have a special update on some of the things what we have been able to do together in recent weeks.

Let’s continue to take the opportunity to invite our friends and family to join us for our online services and to stay connected through weekly zoom calls.

This Tuesday I will be on a fifteen minute zoom call at 7pm, which is open to any of you who would like to connect at that time, after which our Life Groups will begin.

If would like to join us or one of the Life Group zoom calls you can click here.

This week marks the beginning of the month of May, and as a church we have always had a special focus this month on God’s ability to work in extraordinary and miraculous ways.

We will be sending you a Miracle card on which you can write down what you are specifically asking and believing for God to do.

There is something powerful about focus and whenever Jesus performed a miracle it was always preceded by a significant moment of focus.

With that in mind, let’s believe that God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask or imagine for each and every one of us.

In this time of economic uncertainty let’s ask God for His miraculous provision, and remind Him of all His promises as we look to Him and respond to His word in faith.

“This generous God who supplies abundant seed for the farmer, which becomes bread for our meals, is even more extravagant toward you. First he supplies every need, plus more. Then he multiplies the seed as you sow it, so that the harvest of your generosity will grow.” 2 Corinthians 9:10 TPT

We are praying and believing with you that May will be a Month of Miracles!

Be sure to let us know all that God does, so that we can share your stories and encourage others with them.

Looking forward to gathering together with you online tomorrow!

We love and appreciate you greatly,

An Unprecedented Opportunity in An Unprecedented Time

Hi Newport Church family,

We hope you had a blessed and faith-filled Easter!

We are so thankful for the opportunity to stay connected through our online services, zoom calls and all other forms of electronic communication in this time when we cannot gather in person.

Even though churches were unable to meet in buildings, it may well be that this year, the global church had it’s greatest ever Easter attendance through online services!

There is no doubt that what the enemy means for evil, God will always use for good! We now have an unprecedented opportunity to invite our family and friends near and far to join us for our online services.

Let’s do everything we can to make the most of this opportunity by sending them the invitation below to join us.

I am reminded in this season of the story of Isaac, who was in the promised land, when a famine came. God spoke to Him clearly and said, “Don’t go down to Egypt to look for provision, but stay in the land and I will provide for you and bless you”

Isaac believed God’s promise, sowed in the midst of the famine, and reaped a hundredfold in the same year! When Isaac’s natural reasoning would have told him to hold onto all of the seed and keep it for food, he sowed from the seed he had. And because he continued to sow, even in a time of famine, God blessed Him.

I am always encouraged by this story because it reminds me of God’s faithfulness in difficult times and the power of continuing to sow my time, my talent and treasure in every season.

God does not ask us to give what we don’t have or what we used to have, but out of what we do have. When we do, He promises to give us both bread to eat and seed to sow and to multiply that seed, so that we will have more bread to eat and more seed to sow!

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for faithfully sowing your time, talent and treasure in this difficult season. Because of you, we can continue to be a voice of hope and faith and a storehouse and resource to meet the natural and spiritual need all around us.

If you would like to contribute to our ongoing vision and mission you can do so by clicking on this link

Also if you are in need please let us know by clicking on this link we would love to do anything we can to help you.

Let’s continue to pray that God will turn back the tide of this virus, protect us, heal those who are sick, comfort those who have lost loved ones and that we will know His provision in every way this season.

We look forward to joining together with you all online. Don’t forget to invite the people in your world to our service this weekend!

We love and appreciate you greatly,

Good Friday & Easter at Home!

Hi Newport Church family,

We want to wish you a very blessed and happy Easter from our home to yours.

This Easter will be very different from any that we have ever experienced before, and our prayer is that you will know a special measure of God’s grace in this season and time of need.

A big thank you to all those who gave in our Vision Offering last Sunday, so that we can help those in our church family who are in need at this time. If you are in need please let us know. We would love to do anything we can to help you.

Thank you for our continued faithfulness and generosity. If you would like to contribute either to this offering or to our ongoing church mission you can do so by clicking here.

Your giving enables us to continue to be a hub of hope and faith for our churchcommunity and beyond, especially in these challenging times.

For the first time in living memory we will not be able to gather together for our Easter services, however we do have the opportunity to gather online!

Our Newport Church at Home online services are as follows:

Good Friday:
A special 30 minute communion service at 7pm (have your bread and juice ready!)

Easter Sunday.
10am in English and 11.30 am in Spanish.

There is no better time than Easter to invite our family and friends to churchand it has never been easier for them to join us than in this season when we are meeting online in our homes.

Let’s make the most of this unprecedented opportunity to send the people in our world the link and invitations attached at the bottom of this email (just tap and hold on the image on your iPhone and tap "Save Image")

For those who would like to connect after our 10am service on Sunday we have a zoom call set up at 11am. You can find the link here.

We may not be able to see and hug each other in person but we can see each other’s faces and greet each other that way!

Let’s continue to pray that God will turn back the tide of this virus, protect us all, heal those who are sick and comfort those who have lost loved ones.

Don’t forget our weekly 6am online prayer meeting and to take some time to pray at 7.14 morning and evening every day. (check out unite714.com for specific prayer points)

This weekend we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, and let’s never forget that it is He JESUS, who will have the last word on everything, not death, sickness, disease or any other thing!

Join Us for "Easter Week at Home"

Hi Newport Church Family,

We hope you are doing well and experiencing God’s grace for this unprecedented season that is continuing to unfold in new ways day by day.

This has been a difficult week, not only with increased numbers of cases of COVID-19 but also with the impact on the economy and people’s ability to work.

The Apostle Paul said that while he was under intense pressure that God spoke to him and said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor 12:9

God promises that He will give us grace for every situation, and our prayer is that we will all know His grace, along with His presence, power, and provision in ever-increasing ways each day.

As you are all aware, national, state and local governments have all ordered an extension of “stay-at-home” orders until the end of April. Although we would love to be able to gather together for Easter, our team has been prepared for this outcome and we’re excited to let you know that we have a special “Easter at Home” series of services and online zoom gatherings for Easter this year!

Palm Sunday - April 5, 2020 - 10AM
We are beginning “The Journey of Easter” this Sunday with a special Palm Sunday service as we celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem! Palm Sunday will mark the first in our “Who is Jesus?” Series along with a time of worship and prayer. You can join us at newportchurch.online.church

First Tuesday Zoom Call - April 7, 2020 - 7PM
While we can’t gather physically, we can gather virtually for our “First Tuesday” Zoom Call! I will be sharing a short exhortation in a church-wide Zoom call and then we’ll break out into our Life Groups for a time of community and discussion. I encourage as many of you as possible to join us even if you’re not in a life group, and we would love to connect you to one. The link will be sent via email on Tuesday evening.

Good Friday - April 10, 2020 - 7PM
We have a special, half-hour “Church at Home” communion service on Good Friday. Have your bread and grape juice ready and we will take time to reflect on all that that Jesus did for each one of us at Calvary. You can join us at newportchurch.online.church

Easter Sunday - April 12, 2020 - 10AM + 11:30 en español.
I am very excited about our “Newport Church at Home” online service on Easter Sunday and that we will also have an additional online service in Spanish at 11.30am! Let’s do everything we can to send the link to as many people as possible and invite them to join us online. There is no better time to invite people to church than Easter and it will undoubtedly have eternal significance for many! You can join us at newportchurch.online.church

Prayer
Let’s keep praying that God will turn back the tide of this virus and bring healing and spiritual awakening to our world.

We can join the rapidly growing number of churches in over 100 countries for UNITE714 by taking some time at 7.14 every morning and evening to lift our prayer to God.

UNITE14 is a call for the church worldwide to take time to pray every morning and evening at 7.14, based on God’s call to the nation of Israel to pray in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

You can check out the daily prayer on unite714.com.

Our weekly prayer meeting is being hosted from 6am to 7am every Tuesday by Rino Chantana on a zoom call and you can join us by texting Rino on 310-463-5042 for further information.

We look forward to the day when we can all gather again in person, but until then let’s make the very most of the opportunity we have to invite our friends and family to these special online services and continue to bring hope and faith to the people in our world in these uncertain times.

Believing for God’s very best for you and your family in this Easter season!

We love and appreciate you greatly,

"Church at Home" Update: Pray with Us

Hi Newport Church Family,

We hope you are all doing well and in good health and spirit as we navigate our new normal.

With "stay-at-home" protocols in place, schools starting distance learning this week and all the other daily adjustments we are needing to make, this is new territory for all of us!

However, in the midst of all of this change and social distancing, we have the opportunity to stay connected as we continue to draw closer as a churchcommunity through our various online and social media platforms.

Sunday "Church at Home" Service
We hope that you enjoyed and were blessed by our “Newport Church at Home” online service last Sunday. We had so many great responses, not only from our church family but also those who we reached out to and invited to join us online.

This Sunday I will be speaking on how we can be a voice of hope and faith in these uncertain times, and our Worship Pastors Pablo and Becky Motta will be leading us in a time of worship.

In this unprecedented season, when people are looking for new hope, let’s do everything we can to invite people in our world to join us for this online service.

The best place to engage with our church family is on the online churchplatform, where you can access our "Church at Home" service found at the link below. Our goal is to make the service as accessible as possible to anyone who wants to watch it.

Our technical team have suggested that you watch on YouTube, if you are viewing on your TV, while engaging in the online conversation on your smartphones on the Online Church platform. Just download the YouTube App on your smart TV and search "Newport Church", the service will come up as one of the first results.

Midweek Online Groups
Our midweek small groups are continuing to meet online and you can find a list of them on our website. Please email us at more@newportchurch.com if you would like to join a group and we will connect you to a group where you can be encouraged and grow in your faith.

Prayer
Our weekly prayer meeting is being hosted from 6am to 7am every Tuesday by Rino Chantana on a zoom call and you can join us by texting Rino on 310 463 5042 for further information.

We are also joining a rapidly growing number of churches in over 100 countries for UNITE714. UNITE14 is a call for the church worldwide to take time to pray every morning and evening at 7.14, based on God’s call to the nation of Israel to pray in 2 Chronicles 7:14:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”

As New Testament believers, our sins are forgiven through the finished work of Christ, but the principle of seeking God in prayer and asking God to heal our land is even more powerful today.

Let’s take a moment at 7.14 every morning and evening to lift our prayer to God, asking Him to turn back the tide of this virus, and to bring healing and spiritual awakening to our world.

You can check out the daily prayer on unite714.com

We are continuing to pray for you, your family and friends. Please let us know if you have specific prayer requests by emailing us at more@newportchurch.com

Don’t forget to invite everyone you can to join us online by sending them the link to our Sunday service: newportchurch.online.church

Looking forward to seeing you online this Sunday at 10am!

We love and appreciate you all greatly,

"Church at Home" this Sunday + Midweek Updates

WebBanner2.jpg

Hi Newport Church Family,

We hope you are all doing well and in good health and spirit in the midst of these uncertain times.

We want to take a moment to communicate how the most recent government and health authorities’ precautionary measures are affecting the way we gather as a church community.

As a result of statements from Government and Orange County Health officials, we will continue to meet in our homes for Sunday “Church at Home” online. We will also be moving all of our midweek and small group meetings to online communication platforms such as Zoom or FaceTime. The leaders of your small groups will be reaching out to you with details on how to access these platforms.

Despite all of the uncertainty that the Coronavirus is creating, we have an awesome opportunity as a church community to be even more connected through online communication.

We also have the opportunity to invite the many people in our world, who are looking for hope and strength in these times, to join us for our Sunday Services at 10am or 6pm online.

The good news is that our reach and ability to help people can increase rather than diminish in these weeks if we all invite people to join us through the online platforms we have available! Our online connection will be even easier to access this week in the link at the bottom of this email. Join us at 10am or 6pm this Sunday!

We can also all be part of an online small group where we can encourage one another in our faith and process together, as we navigate these uncharted waters.

If you are not already a part of a small group and would like to be a part of an online group please email us, we would love to connect you to a group where you can be encouraged and grow in your faith.

I will also be posting some short messages of hope and faith on my instagram account as well as on our Newport Church instagram account.

If you have any questions, prayer requests or testimonies please share them with us at more@newportchurch.com so that we can be here for you, as well as encourage others with your stories of God’s faithfulness.

Let’s continue to pray that God will turn back the tide of this virus, protect us and our families, heal those who are sick and that we can be a light to our world in the midst of this season.

Don’t forget to invite everyone you can to join us online by sending them the link to our Sunday service: newportchurch.online.church

Look forward to seeing you online this Sunday at 10am!

"Church at Home" this Sunday!

Hi Newport Church family,

On Wednesday we sent you an email outlining the precautions we are taking as a church in light of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

As a result of recent developments, along with the recommendations of the Governor of California and health officials, we have prayerfully decided to move our Sunday services to “Church at Home”, where you can join us for an online live-stream service in your home. This service will go live at 10am and we will be rescreening it again at 6pm.

We now have the opportunity to meet as the early church did, from home to home, but with 21st century technology. This will enable us all to stay connected as a church and see God’s Kingdom continue to advance.

We have made this decision as a precautionary measure, so that we can align ourselves with the most current health and government recommendations, as well as the many other churches in our area who are following the same protocols. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will continue to keep you updated on any new developments through email, our website, and social media outlets.

Our position as followers of Jesus is not to react in panic or fear but rather to respond in wisdom and faith. “God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7)

There are three important things that we can do at this time as a church family:

Pray
Pray that God would turn back the tide of this virus, that He would protect us, heal those affected and use this situation to turn people’s hearts toward Him.

Watch
Let’s make the most of this opportunity and join the live-stream this Sunday so that we can connect with God and each other as we experience “Church at Home.”

Give
Our giving allows us to continue to fulfill what God has called us to do as a church, and to reach and bless people in our community and beyond. Thank you for your faithful partnership with us.

To join the live-stream service, please visit our website and click on “WATCH” in the top right corner. If you have any issues or would like further assistance on how to join us, please email more@newportchurch.com

We are praying for you and your family and that what the enemy meant for evil, God will turn around for good. Can’t wait for you to join us at either 10am or 6pm!

We love and appreciate you greatly!
