Miracle May Daily posts

Welcome to Day 1 of Miracle May!

It’s the 1st day Miracle May, the month when we as a church community have a special focus on God’s ability and willingness to move miraculously and supernaturally in our lives.

When a man with leprosy, the most feared and incurable disease of the day, came and knelt before Jesus saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand, touched him and said, “I am willing, be clean!” and immediately he was healed of his leprosy.

Jesus demonstrated that He was not only able but willing to heal him.

Whatever Miracle we need, God is not only able but He is willing to do what we ask.

Why don’t you join us as we approach Jesus this month with the same attitude of humility, faith and expectation knowing that God is not only able but He is willing.

God is not only willing but able to do what we ask Him. Let’s stir our faith, believe and ask God to do extraordinary things this month, in our house, our neighbors house and God’s house.
God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all that we could ask or imagine!

Welcome to Day 3 of Miracle May!
God can move miraculously and supernaturally any day of the week, month or year, but there is something powerful about focus.
In every miracle that Jesus performed He engaged peoples focus, taking their attention away from anything that could distract them. Jesus did this by asking questions, establishing eye contact, or giving an instruction to do something, so that the person needing a miracle could focus on Him rather than their problem and when their focus was on Jesus, Miracles happened.

This month as we focus on God’s miraculous ability and willingness to answer our prayers however impossible our situation may be, let’s determine that we are going to focus on:
God’s Ability Rather than any Impossibility.
God’s Willingness rather than our Fears.
God’s Power rather than our weakness, knowing that our Focus on Jesus is the key to our Miracle!

When we invite God to enter our finite world with His infinite presence and power, He changes everything!

Let’s invite God to surprise us with miracles that surpass our expectations and understanding. He wants to do improbable and extraordinary things on our behalf!

Welcome to day 5 of Miracle May!

Miracles happen but they don’t just happen.
Every time Jesus performed a miracle He asked those who received the miracle to do something, which activated the Miracle.

So he said to the man with the withered arm, stretch out your arm, which he hadn’t been able to do, and he was healed, to the blind man, go and wash your eyes in the pool of Siloam and he was healed, to the 10 lepers go and show yourselves cleansed to the priests and as they went doing what Jesus had asked them to do, they were healed.

God wants to engage us in the process of the Miracle because He wants the Miracle to happen with us not just for us.
And our engagement with God in the process is even more important than the miracle itself

When we do this it opens the door to another dimension, the supernatural dimension of miracles!

We will walk tomorrow in the answers to the prayers we pray today. God is moved by our prayer!

Welcome to Day 7 of Miracle May!

When God gave Habbakuk a vision of the miraculous things that He was about to do, He told Habbakuk to write them down and to make them clear so that whoever read them, would be energized by what they read and it would cause them run with greater faith.

In the same way we can write down our prayer and make it clear and specific so that as we read it we can pray with greater faith and energy.

There’s something powerful about writing down our prayers and those things that we are asking God to do because what we write is a declaration of our expectation and when God answers our prayer and we and others read what we wrote, our faith will rise and we will pray and run with greater faith and energy.

Let’s write our prayer and make it clear so that we can read it, pray with expectation and run with it!

Our perspective changes everything.

Welcome to Day 9 of Miracle May!

In the Gospel of Mark is written the story of a blind beggar called Bartimaus, who hears Jesus passing through Jericho surrounded by a great crowd.

So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” and when the crowd yelled at him to be quiet he shouted out all the louder.

Jesus called for Bartimaus and asked him “What do you want me to do for you?”

Bartimaus said “Lord, I want to see!”

And Jesus said, “Receive your sight! Your faith has healed you,” and immediately he could see and he followed Jesus on the road praising God.

If Jesus asked you the same question, “What do you want me to do for you?” What would you say?

Because Jesus is waiting for us to tell him what we would like Him to do for us, just like blind Bartimaus did, before he received his miracle!

Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8

Welcome to Day 11 of Miracle May!

Many times when Jesus performed miracles He said, “according to your faith let it be done for you!”

The faith and expectation of those needing a miracle was a vital key for the miracle that followed.

Expectation is an energizing force that combined with our faith propels us into the realization and fulfilment of our expectation

So it’s important that we ask ourselves, what is my expectation and where does my expectation come from?

David said, “In the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”

David knew that God was the unfailing source of his hope, faith and expectation!

So as we look to God and ask Him to move miraculously on our behalf, let’s keep our expectation high, because as Jesus said, “according to your faith and expectation let it be done for you!”

“In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents [that is, changes his inner self—his old way of thinking, regrets past sins, lives his life in a way that proves repentance; and seeks God’s purpose for his life].”
-Jesus

Welcome to Day 13 of Miracle May!

James who was Jesus’ half-brother was said to have had knees like a camels because of the amount of time he spent on his knees praying.

And from this posture and revelation of prayer he wrote these words, “You do not have because you do not ask.”

He echoed what Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks the door will be opened.”

God knows what we need before we ask Him but because He so values our freewill He is waiting for us to invite Him to act on our behalf

Because just as Martin Luther said “Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance. It is laying hold of His willingness”.

Welcome to Day 14 of Miracle May!

It’s Mothers’ Day and as we continue to pray and believe God for Miracles today is a day when we honor Mothers.

For every one of Jesus’ 37 recorded miracles, there was a mother who’d been praying, crying out to God and who rejoiced when the Miracle happened.

In fact the first miracle that Jesus performed, at a wedding where they had run out of wine, took place because Jesus’ mother told the servants “Whatever Jesus says to you, do it,” and when they did over 120 gallons of water was turned into the finest quality wine!

The wisest thing any mother could tell her children or anyone for that matter, is to do whatever Jesus says, which is the master key to every miracle that we are praying for.

So this Mothers’ day let’s take Jesus’ Mothers advice and do whatever Jesus tells us to do, and wait expectantly for our miracle!

When we pray as Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” we are inviting God to establish His rule and authority over every sphere of our lives that we submit to Him, and as King He has the final say on everything!

Welcome to Day 16 of Miracle May!

When Jesus went to his hometown of Nazareth He was only able to heal a few sick people and He explained that the reason was the absence of honor.

He said a prophet is given honor wherever he goes, except in his hometown where the familiarity of the people he grows up with breeds dishonor and unbelief.

Where there is no honor there are no miracles.

The text doesn’t say Jesus wouldn’t perform any miracles in his hometown, it’s says He couldn’t.

To honor means to value, esteem, respect and to demonstrate that with our words and actions.

So the more we honor God, the more we honor His word, the more we value and welcome His presence the more we will create an environment of honor where miracles can happen because honor is a key that opens the door to God’s miraculous power.

Luke 11:5-13 NLT
Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: “Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him,

6 ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’

7 And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’

8 But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.[a]
9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Welcome to Day 18 of Miracle May!

Gratitude is one of the most important aspects of receiving and living in our miracle.
The words “Thank you” shouldn’t be only reserved for after our miracle has taken place but we can begin to thank God in advance for who He is and what we are asking Him to do.

Psalm 100:4 in the Message Translation says, Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Just like we need a password to access our phones, computers, ATM machines, the words “thank you” are a password that give us access to God’s miraculous power and provision.

Our thankfulness and gratitude pave the way of our approach to an all-generous God.
So as we are asking God to move miraculously let’s begin by thanking God in advance for:
What we’re asking Him to do, for who He and for His promises.
And enter with the password “Thank you”.

Psalm 100 Message

On your feet now—applaud God!
Bring a gift of laughter,
sing yourselves into his presence.
3 Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep.
4 Enter with the password: “Thank you!”
Make yourselves at home, talking praise.
Thank him. Worship him.
5 For God is sheer beauty,
all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.

Welcome to Day 20 of Miracle May!

While Jesus was on His way from Galilee to Jerusalem ten men with leprosy called out asking Him to have mercy on them and heal them. Jesus looked at them with compassion, told them to show themselves to the priests and as they went they were miraculously healed.
Only one of them, a Samaritan, came back to thank Jesus. Jesus commended him for returning to thank Him and asked, “where are the other nine? Your faith has made you whole.”
His miracle was an even greater than the other nine because it not only healed his skin it healed his heart.

And He demonstrated that by his gratitude.

A true miracle not only changes our situation it changes our hearts!

So as we pray for miracles let’s have the same attitude as the one who returned to give thanks, because the greatest miracle of all is that our hearts are changed forever.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 4:16 NLT

Psalm 19
The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftsmanship.
2 Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
3 They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.[a]
4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.
God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.
6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat.
7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect,
reviving the soul.
The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The commandments of the Lord are right,
bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving insight for living.
9 Reverence for the Lord is pure,
lasting forever.
The laws of the Lord are true;
each one is fair.
10 They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb.
11 They are a warning to your servant,
a great reward for those who obey them.

Welcome to Day 23 of Miracle May!

After Jesus’ resurrection Peter said, “I’m going fishing”.

The other disciples said, “we’re coming with you” and they fished all through the night and caught nothing.

In the morning Jesus called out to them from the shore and said, “Cast your net onto the right side of the boat.” When they did, they brought in such a large catch that their nets were breaking.

Jesus was teaching them to lift their nets out of the waters of the natural realm and dip them into the waters of the supernatural, on the other side of the boat where their catch would not be affected by their natural limitations.

So when we pray and activate our faith we are lifting our nets out of the waters of the natural and dipping them into the waters of the supernatural for a miracle. So as we do what Jesus told them to do let’s believe for our miraculous catch!

Welcome to Day 24 of Miracle May!

When the disciples were asking Jesus for more faith, He replied, “If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed you can say to this mountain be removed and cast into the depths of the sea.”

Mountains speak of enormity either physically or metaphorically.

A mountain of problems, debt, a mountain of work...

These kind of mountains overshadow us, intimidate us and tower over us as insurmountable problems.

But Jesus said if we have faith even as small as a mustard seed the very smallest of seeds we can speak to the mountain and it will have to move!

Instead of letting the mountain speak to us and fill our hearts with fear, we must speak to the mountain and when we do we will activate that mountain moving faith that Jesus is talking about. Let’s speak to our mountain rather than listening to it and command it to move it Jesus’ name!

Jesus told us to speak to our mountain rather than allowing  it speak to and intimidate us: “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”
Mark 11:23 NKJV

Welcome to Day 26 of Miracle May!

When Jesus got into Peter’s boat on the shores of the Sea of Galilee He spoke to the crowds, then turned to Peter and said, “Launch out into the deep for a catch.” Peter said “Master we’ve fished all night and caught nothing but NEVERTHELESS at Your word I will.” Peter was a skilled fisherman while Jesus was a carpenter. Peter knew more about fishing than Jesus did, so Peter’s experience told him that there was no way that they were going to catch any fish at that time of day and in the deep. However he made the decision to allow Jesus’ words to take precedence over his natural reasoning, and a miracle happened. They caught so many fish that their boat was sinking and they had to signal their partners to come and help them!

That’s what happens when we give God’s Word precedence over our rational thinking. Our “NEVERTHELESS at Your word” will be the key to our miracle!

Welcome to Day 27 of Miracle May!

When we need a miracle we face facts that are impossible. It may be the facts in a health report, facts about a relationship, our finances or any other fact that seems to put a stamp of finality on our situation.

At the same time the truth of God’s word says that nothing is impossible for God and for those who believe what He declares and promises in His Word.

So the facts say one thing while the truth says another, but the Truth of God’s Word is more powerful than any fact that we’re facing.

When we believe the truth is more powerful than the facts, the truth invades the facts and leaves different facts behind.

Let’s believe the truth and watch how the facts will change!

And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
John 20:30-31

And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
John 21:25

Welcome to Day 29 of Miracle May!

Within the seed of a tree lies a forest, within a seed of wheat lies a harvest and within the seed in our hands lies the potential of our future, because the miracle is in the seed.

It’s not how much seed we have that counts, it’s what we do with the seed that we have.

Jesus said unless a grain of wheat is sown into the ground it will remain alone but if the seed is sown, it will bear many seeds.

Solomon said, “In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand,”

Why? Because the miracle is in the seed.

Every seed bears fruit according to its’ kind, so whatever we are sowing whether its’ God’s word, acts of kindness, grace, generosity, or any other seed, the miracle of multiplication is in the seed and when we sow the seed we activate the miracle!
