Hi Newport Church Family,
We pray that you have known God’s grace and peace this week.
What a week it has been as we await the result of the election, let’s keep praying for God to continue to work in the midst of the process and the outcome.
Sunday Morning Services Resume Tomorrow at 11 am!
We are so excited to be resuming our Sunday morning services tomorrow! This is a very significant day for us as a church, after eight months of not meeting in our building, and we would love for you to join us.
A big thank you to all our team who have been working so hard to prepare and make this the best possible experience for us all.
Our teams are ready to serve, our worship team is ready to lead us in a powerful time of worship and I have a word prepared which I believe and pray will inspire and build faith in us all.
Our baristas are ready to pour the very best coffee to your liking and this week all the coffees are free and our welcome home gift to you!
Come early, get your coffee and let’s celebrate gathering again.
After Service Lunch
We have lunch ready for everyone after the service from 12.30-1.15pm, during which time we will share some of our vision for the remainder of the year. Even if you have other lunch plans we would love for you to join us.
The Angle and Attitude of our Reentry
Recently I brought a message on the importance of the angle and attitude of reentry.
When the space shuttle or any spacecraft reenters the earth’s atmosphere it must do so at a very precise angle and speed.
If the angle is too shallow it will bounce off the earth’s atmosphere like a flat stone on a still pond or if the angle is too steep the friction will be too great and the spacecraft will burn up on reentry.
When a space shuttle successfully enters the earth’s atmosphere at the right angle it must then fly with the right attitude in the earth’s atmosphere in order land.
The attitude of an aircraft is the angle of it’s nose in relation to the horizon.
In basic aeronautical terms, a nose up attitude will cause the aircraft to climb and gain altitude, a nose down attitude will cause the aircraft to descend and lose altitude.
Even when the aircraft is maintaining a constant altitude, it must have a nose up attitude for optimum performance.
Our Angle – 3 Options
In the same way, we have prayed, planned and mapped out what we believe to be the best time, path and angle of our reentry.
Interestingly our timing is the same as our local school districts’ middle and high schools in person hybrid teaching schedule.
We understand that everyone has a different level of comfort for reentry, so along with observing all the necessary protocols, we have provided three options so that you will be able to select an angle of reentry that works for you.
The three options are as follows:
Option 1 – Online
Option 2 – In Person Outside our Church Building
Option 3 – In Person in our Auditorium
Please check out all of the details HERE.
Our Attitude - Grace
In order for this to be the best possible start for us our attitude in our reentry is vital.
Our attitude should be one of Grace. Grace for our transition and grace that we extend to others who may have a different pace of reentry to us.
Paul said that God has given all of us a different measure of faith and a measure of grace for every circumstance.
Let’s help and work with each other as we find our place at our own pace while having an overarching attitude of grace.
Pray, Gather, Invite!
Pray with us, gather your family and friends get the word out and invite all the people in your world.
Let’s be that hub of hope and faith and a storehouse that meets the needs of our community, body, soul and spirit.
Generosity makes a Way for Others
Jesus said He is “The Way” and God gave us the greatest gift of all, His Son, so that we would find the way to come home to Him.
Your giving is making a way for others, just as the generations before us made a way for us to know Jesus’ love grace and power through their generosity.
Don’t forget to keep reminding God of His promises. God is faithful and He will do what He has promised to do as we honor Him and His word through our giving.
He who sows generously [that blessings may come to others] will also reap generously [and be blessed].
