Hi Newport Church Family,
We trust that you are well an in good health and spirit.
May has been a month in which we have been praying and believing for Miracles, and we look forward to hearing all that God has done and will continue to do in the days ahead.
If you have a story to share please email it to us at more@newportchurch.com, we would love to hear from you so that we can encourage others with your story.
The Miracle is in the Seed
Every year at the end of May we have given a miracle offering, which is seed that we sow in faith, believing that God will cause it to bring new life to people locally and globally and that He will multiply the seed that we sow so that we can continue to be generous on every occasion.
As we prepare our hearts, I am reminded of the powerful truth that the miracle of new life and multiplication is found in every seed.
Within every seed lies the potential for a miraculous harvest.
Within an acorn lies the potential of not only a huge oak tree but a forest of oak trees. Each tree produces over 2,000 acorns every year and can live for over 150 years, which means one acorn will be multiplied over the life of the tree to produce over 300,000 acorns!
Each one of those acorns has the potential to produce another tree which can produce another tree until a forest of oak trees has grown producing billions of acorns.
That is the potential and miracle that lies within every seed!
Jesus, speaking about faith and miracles, said that the mustard seed which is the smallest of seeds grows into the largest of trees and the birds of the air come and take refuge in it.
Jesus’ analogy highlights what sowing our seed in faith can achieve. Each one of us can bring great hope, refuge and meaningful community through our generosity.
Building a Storehouse and Legacy of Hope and Faith
Our vision has always been to be a storehouse, where we have food in our house that can feed people spiritually, emotionally and physically.
The seed we sow makes it possible to have food in our house for greater impact, greater reach and to meet the ever greater needs around us.
Joseph had a vision of building storehouses in Egypt which became the means by which he not only fed a nation but also the surrounding nations during a time of extreme famine.
Joseph may be remembered most for his dreams, but his most enduring and lasting legacy was very simply that he realized the power of a storehouse and built storehouses that saved millions of people from starvation and death in the midst of famine.
Our prayer is that we might increasingly become a storehouse of hope and faith and leave a legacy for future generations just as previous generations have left for us.
Sowing our Seed in the Morning
Tomorrow morning as we worship and honor God we will have the opportunity to sow our seed, which has within it miraculous potential.
We will also be showing an inspiring video which highlights some of the things that your generosity has made possible in our church, our community and overseas.
Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 11:6, “In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand.”
We pray that as we do that in faith, God will supernaturally multiply the seed we sow and bring new life and blessing to many.
Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity. If you are not able to be with us tomorrow or would like to give now you can do so on our website or through Pushpay
We are looking forward to a great day together either in person or online.
We love and appreciate you all greatly,
