Hi Newport Church Family,
We want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope and pray that you have a blessed and happy time with your family and friends this week.
Even though this year has turned out far from all of our expectations, there is so much that we can be thankful for and there are so many lessons that we can take with from this season.
If you have a story that you would like to share and encourage others with, you can do so by clicking on this link, http://newportchurch.com/thanksgiving2020
We would love to hear from you!
New Government Church Meeting Restrictions
With most of California including Orange County in the Purple tier of COVID restrictions we are currently only permitted to meet outside our building.
So, this weekend we will be screening our service live from inside our building and you can either join us online or outside our building where you can connect with others in a café space with tables, chairs, a screen and the very best coffee from our Newport Church Café!
We will be monitoring state and local restrictions closely and be giving you regular updates on our website, where you can find all the current details.
Special Thanksgiving Offering
This weekend we are very excited about the opportunity to give our annual Thanksgiving offering.
We have been giving an end of year offering every year since we started Newport Church, as an expression of our gratitude for all that God has done for us.
And with this offering we are doing what previous generations have done for us, which is to pave the way for future generations through our generosity.
David said,
“One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4
Our giving will enable us to continue to be a storehouse that meets the needs of our community, body soul and spirit.
With calls to crisis help line centers increasing by 8,000% during the pandemic, drug and alcohol abuse and deaths, domestic violence and suicide rates all soaring amidst the restrictions, we have never experienced a time like this as a church, when people have needed a community and hub of hope and faith.
Let’s never forget what God has done for us, the price that others paid to pave the way for us, and that our generosity can do to pave the way for future generations.
We encourage you to take time to:
1) Think about all that God has done for you.
2) Think about all that previous generations have sacrificed for us to know God’s love and the difference that we can make by leaving a lasting spiritual legacy as they did for us.
3) Pray about what God would have each one of us give.
As Jesus said,
“Freely you have received, freely give”
Matthew 10:8
Just a reminder that if you made a Vision 2020 or Kingdom Builders commitment this year, then whatever you give in this offering will go towards that commitment.

Thankful for….
This week we will be posting Instagram stories each day, with members of our church family sharing what they are thankful for. Take time to check out their stories and encourage them on our Newport Church Instagram.
We are very thankful for each one of you and all that you bring and add to our church and community.
Never underestimate the value and power of your presence and your ability to bring much needed hope to every person you meet.
Can’t wait for you to join on Sunday either outside our church building or online.
We love and appreciate you all greatly,
Jonathan & Dianne Wilson
