Hi Newport Church Family,

We hope that you had a happy and blessed Easter.

What a great weekend we had together as a church, as we celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus in our Good Friday and Easter Sunday English and Spanish services.

Jesus’ Infallible Proofs and Unquestionable Demonstrations

Luke writes in the first chapter of the book of Acts that Jesus appeared to the disciples proving the reality and power of His resurrection over a period of forty days:

“To these [men] He also showed Himself alive after His suffering [in Gethsemane and on the cross], by [a series of] many infallible proofs and unquestionable demonstrations, appearing to them over a period of forty days and talking to them about the things concerning the kingdom of God.”

Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthians that during the forty days between Jesus resurrection and ascension into heaven He appeared to more than five hundred people at one time.

There was no doubt about the reality of Jesus’ resurrection because it was established through many infallible proofs and unquestionable demonstrations!

It’s important to note Jesus revealed Himself specifically to those who made Him the focus of their attention and devotion.

In these coming days let’s renew our focus on Jesus with ever greater devotion, and invite Him to release His resurrection life in us and in our church with many unquestionable demonstrations of His power!

Let’s also pray that just as Jesus brought new understanding and fresh revelation of God’s kingdom to His disciples at that time, we too will grow in our understanding and revelation of God’s kingdom purpose for our time.

Grace, Grace and more Grace!

Zechariah prophesied about the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, that had been in ruins for so many years, with these words:

‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ Zech 4:7

The rebuilding of the Temple required great grace and as we rebuild as a church after a year of COVID restrictions we need grace, grace and more grace!

Orange County is now in the orange tier of restrictions, which means that as a church we can now operate at fifty percent capacity, and current projections indicate that by June California will be fully open.

We have always said as a church, “find your place at your own pace.”

As more and more people return to in person church attendance, let’s all of us do so with great grace, knowing that we all have different levels of comfort regarding regathering.

We encourage you to join us in person if you can and of course we will continue to live stream our services on YouTube.

Let’s keep praying and believing for a season of new life and great growth!
