Hi Newport Church Family,
Happy Easter! We pray that your Easter is filled with love, hope and every blessing as you gather with your family and friends.
On the Third Day He Rose Again…
As we remember and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, the words of the Apostles Creed which have been timelessly declared over the centuries, powerfully encapsulate the meaning of these three days.
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth;
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
These words articulate the essence, mystery and wonder of our faith. This weekend we are celebrating that Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins and rose from the dead so that we could experience His resurrection power and everlasting life.
And because of the events of these three days, all of the promises of God through Jesus are Yes and Amen!
This Easter let’s gather and celebrate what Jesus did for us and declare to our world the love and grace of God that is demonstrated through the power of the cross, and Jesus’ Resurrection on the third day.
Easter Sunday Service – NEW SERVICE TIME 10am
On the Sunday morning, three days after His crucifixion, Jesus’ followers went early to the tomb where Jesus had been lain. What they found was an empty tomb and two angels standing by saying, “why do you seek the living among the dead, He is not here but He is Risen!”
In the same way this Resurrection Sunday we can go to God’s House and celebrate the empty tomb that changed everything for every one of us forever!
At our new Sunday morning service time of 10am, we’re going to continue with our theme of “Till the End of Time” and we’re praying and believing that people will experience God’s presence, peace and power in an unprecedented way as we worship together.
Let’s do everything we can not only to be there ourselves but to invite our family and friends. Here is a link with an invitation you can send to the people in your world.
Easter Spanish Speaking Service – 12pm
Our monthly Spanish service will be held this Sunday and we encourage you to invite all of the Spanish speakers in your world to come to this special Easter service. Check it out here!
The Greatest Gift of All
God gave us the greatest gift of all by sending His Son Jesus, who gave Himself for us as a perfect sacrifice and offering.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Cor 5:21
I will never forget how the realization of those words transformed my life forever because someone took the time to invite and take me to church, others gave their finance that made it possible for the church to be there and then those who gave their talents to serve in God’s house.
Let’s do for others what others have done for us so that our world can know the true hope of Easter through our generosity.
If you would like to give your donation, tithe or offering now, you can do so by clicking here.
We can’t wait to see you tomorrow at 10am!
We love and appreciate you greatly,
With love and blessings,
Jonathan and Dianne Wilson
