It’s Miracle May!
Today is the first day of May and marks the beginning of a month when as a church we focus on God’s miraculous power and ability to move in extraordinary ways in our lives and world.
We encourage you at the start of this month to pray and believe with us that God will do extraordinary things and move in supernatural ways in our lives, our neighbors lives and our church.
We have a special miracle card which we will be making available at church and online at newportchurch.com/miraclemay. Take some time to fill it out and write down specifically what you are asking and believing that God will do.
Join us as we pray and believe together with faith, expectation and confidence in God’s ability to do above and beyond all that we could ever ask or imagine.
God is Able and Willing
Let’s never forget that God is not only able but He is willing!
One of the great examples of this is the found in the story of the man with an advanced case of leprosy, who Jesus healed:
A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!” Instantly the leprosy disappeared, and the man was healed. Mark 1:40-42 NLT
This man knew that Jesus was able to heal him because he had heard and seen many of the miracles that Jesus had performed, but what he didn’t know was whether or not Jesus was willing to heal.
When Jesus said, “I am willing”, He was saying those powerful and profound words not only to this man, but to anyone who comes to Jesus believing that He is able to do what we ask Him to do.
God is not only able, He is willing!
Focus Releases Faith
This story also highlights the power of focus. This man was totally focused on Jesus, so much so that he bowed to the ground on his knees begging that Jesus would heal him.
Jesus was moved with great compassion and healed him.
Very often when people came to Jesus asking to be healed, Jesus asked them to look at Him.
Jesus did this because He knew that focus on Him would release faith in them and they would be healed.
The key to our miracle is not found in focusing on what we want Jesus to do, but in focusing on Him, the One who is willing and able to do what we are asking of Him!
When we focus on Jesus, faith will rise in our hearts in the same way that it did in Peter’s heart when he focused on Jesus and walked on water!
Let’s focus on Jesus with renewed expectation this month, and may faith rise in our hearts so that we see God work in extraordinary ways!

Miracles in our Finances
There is no doubt that we would all like to see God work miraculously in our finances! The truth is that God is not only willing but able to do so.
God outlines very clearly in His word how we can experience supernatural provision and multiplication.
God says:
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. Malachi 3:10 NIV
Paul writes to the Corinthian church that God gives seed to those who sow and promises that He Himself will multiply the seed we sow.
At the beginning of this month of Miracles let’s believe for financial miracles in our house and in God’s house.
If you have never put God to the test by taking Him up on His challenge to tithe, what a great month to do so.

Next Tuesday all of our leaders, teams, life groups and church family are gathering at church for a time of worship and inspiration in the Word.
