Hi Newport Church Family,
We hope you had a faith-filled week and are experiencing new measures of God’s grace.
Happy Miracle May and Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Moms both natural and spiritual!
We are so thankful for you all and will be taking time to honor you and give you a special gift this Sunday. We hope that you can join us for what will be a great morning together.
Mother’s Day Miracle Sunday!
Mother’s day is a day when we honor our Moms and gather together as families. It’s Miracle May and as we gather this Sunday let’s believe for miracles in our families and in our church family.
One of the greatest miracles ever was the birth of Jesus, God’s Son, into an earthly family with a human mother. God sent His Son, the Savior of the World, from heaven to earth in the form of a baby. Jesus was both God and man and grew up in a family with a mother, a stepfather, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, and an extensive family.
Jesus experienced the joys, the fun, the struggles and sorrows of family life, along with the loss of family members which included His stepfather Joseph at some time after Jesus’ twelfth birthday.
Although Jesus was perfect, His family like any other family was imperfect. The writers of the gospel identify James, Joseph, Jude, and Simon as His brothers along with His sisters. As siblings, Jesus’ brothers and sisters would have had the normal squabbles and arguments that all brothers and sisters do. They also would no doubt have struggled to come to terms with Jesus’ perfection. Why did He never get into trouble when they did all the time?!
Without question, Jesus’ brothers and sisters knew that he was no ordinary child or man, but they didn’t believe that He was the Messiah until after His resurrection.
Because Jesus grew up in a family He identifies with all of the aspects of our joys and sorrows, highs and lows of family life. So we are eternally thankful for Jesus, who was a part of a family here on earth, being very present in every aspect of our family life
On Mother’s day, we think about family probably more than any other day because mothers nurture and raise us as children, making our house a home and filling our home with love.
This past week Pastor Di’s Mum went to be with Jesus and her heavenly home after several years of battling leukemia. She was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend to many, including those who got to know her on her many visits to us here in California.
She loved greatly, was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
We are so thankful for the hope and assurance that we have of eternity with Jesus and our loved ones in heaven, and we know that she will be greeted by Jesus with the words, “well done good and faithful servant.”
We were not able to visit Australia and be with Pastor Di’s Mum due to international COVID restrictions on travel, and this has made her passing even harder. Please pray for Pastor Di and our family both here and in Sydney, where her Dad, sister, and niece have been caring for her.
We are so thankful for God’s grace, for the love and support of family and friends, and for the hope and assurance we have in Jesus of one day being together for eternity in heaven.
Let’s keep believing for miracles in our families, whether it’s for family members who don’t know Jesus, for healing physically, restoration relationally, provision financially, or any other thing. God is both able and willing!
Kingdom Builders, Vision Partners and Givers
Last Saturday on the first day of Miracle May, we gathered with our kingdom builders and vision partners and I spoke about how we can experience Miracles in our Finances. It was a faith-filled morning and we had a great time together.
I’m sure every one of us would welcome a financial miracle this month and year!
if you were unable to be there or would like to listen to the recording of that meeting please contact Michael and Polly Ellmann our Generosity Pastors by emailing them at michael.ellmann@newportchurch.com
Thank you for your faithful giving, without it we would not be able to be a hub of hope and faith and a storehouse both spiritually and naturally where people can encounter Jesus and experience their miracle.
Let’s never forget every miracle that happened in the bible was preceded by an act of faith.
Giving is like sowing a seed, which leaves our hand, goes into the ground, and germinates before springing up and producing multiplied seed for eating and further sowing.
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown. 2 Corinthians 9:10 NKJV
Let’s sow our miracle seed and believe for a miraculous multiplication of what we sow.
If you have never put God to the test by taking Him up on His challenge to tithe, what a great month to do so.

It’s the only place in the Bible where God gives us permission to test Him!
We are praying and believing with you.
