Hi Newport Church Family,

We trust you are well and experiencing God’s grace, favor and presence.

It’s Father’s Day this Sunday, so a big Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads both natural and spiritual!

We will be having a special kids presentation this Sunday and a tribute to the Dads which you will not want to miss! We also have a father’s day gift,  for all of the men in the house that you can enjoy with a great hand crafted coffee!

The Father’s Heart

The very last promise and last verse of the Old testament is, “he will turn

the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” Malachi 4:6

From the very moment Adam and Eve fell in the garden, God who reveals Himself through all of time as our heavenly Father, has been at work turning our hearts to Him, and to the hearts of our earthly fathers.

When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden God unfolded his architectural plans for the restoration of our relationship with Him.

God embarked on a building program, the cornerstone and capstone of which is Jesus.

Jesus is the image of His Father, the exact representation of His being and the visible expression of the invisible God.

When Philip said to Jesus, “Lord show us the Father,” Jesus replied, “if you've seen Me you've seen the Father.”

The one story that Jesus told which exemplifies the heart of our heavenly Father more than any other is the story of the two sons, one who strayed from home and the other who stayed at home.

At the heart of the story is the disconnect of both sons from their father and the father’s desire to see them both restored to relationship with him.

In the end the son who turned to his father, despite the depth of his brokenness and sin, was the one who was restored. However the son who stayed at home with a hard and resentful heart was left standing at the door when the celebration of his brother’s return was taking place.

The story reveals like none other the intense desire of the father to be reunited with his sons and how that took place at the very moment the younger son turned towards his father.

Our prayer this father’s day is that, whatever our relationship may be or have been with our heavenly or earthly father, our hearts would be continually turned towards our father in heaven and to our fathers here on earth.

And as we do, may we see blessing and healing in our world.

Our Generous Father

God so loved the world that he gave His only Son Jesus, so that we could be restored to relationship with Him and know His love, peace, protection and provision.

Each one of us has the opportunity to do for others what God did for us.

God created us in His image, both to receive and to give. When we give of ourselves, whether it’s our time, our talent, or our finance, we are expressing the very nature of God.

As we do this as together, each one of us doing our part, we are making a way for others to be restored to their heavenly Father just as we have and to know His love, peace protection and provision.

Thank you for partnering with us and for all those who contributed to our Miracle Offering, your generosity is making it possible for us to be present in our community and beyond as a hub of hope and faith.

If you would like to see the video of some of the things we were able to do through your generosity, you can click here or if you were not able to give your offering yet, you may do so by clicking on this clicking here.

Thank you for not only making a difference but being the difference!

We look forward to seeing you in our 10am Father’s Day service this Sunday either in person or online.

We are believing for a powerful time together and for God to touch people through the work of His Spirit, as we gather to worship and honor Him!

We love and appreciate you all greatly,
