Hi Newport Church Family,
We pray that you are well, and in good health and spirit.
Jesus, the Greatest Gift of All
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”, is one of the most well known passages of scripture in the Bible and it sums up the message of Christmas perfectly.
God the Father sent His Son Jesus into a world that was alienated and estranged from Him so that we could be welcomed home into the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Jesus’ birth was the greatest gift of all because He was born into an earthly family so that we could be born into His heavenly family.
He was born as the first born of many brethren so that we could belong to the family of God both here on earth and in Heaven.
He was born into our time so that we could receive the gift of eternal life with Him.
And if every reason why Jesus is the greatest gift of all were written down one by one, as John concludes in his gospel, “the world itself wouldn’t have enough room to contain the books that would have to be written!”
Let’s never forget in this season of exchanging gifts that Jesus is the greatest gift of all.
When we recognize that truth and honor Jesus by allowing Him to be at the very center of our lives, He will light up the darkest night, bring hope in the midst of uncertainty and transform even the most impossible of situations, just as He did on the day of His birth.
Faith, Family and Friends
Over the next two weeks we will have many opportunities to celebrate Christmas and our faith in Jesus with family and friends.
Even though there are mandated COVID restrictions, we can still gather as a church for Sunday services outside our building, where we have the best coffee, great breakfast and faith building connection in our Newport Church Café. We would love to see you there!
Let’s not allow current restrictions to prevent us from worshipping together, and let’s keep encouraging one another in our faith as we are part of all that is happening in the life of our church over the next few weeks.
Christmas - A Time of Giving
Christmas is a time of giving and the giving of our donations, tithes and offerings is especially important at this time when we are continuing to do all that we can to meet the natural and spiritual need in our community.
My Christmas Wish is an opportunity for us to share our love with families at Christmas and our Food with Love ministry is continuing to grow, along with the need for more food and provision.
Over recent weeks we have been distributing food from our church and our building is serving as a storehouse and hub of hope and faith in ever increasing ways for our community.
Thank you for your generosity at this time, your giving is making a significant difference.
A big thank you to all those who have contributed to our end of year Thanksgiving Offering. If you have not had an opportunity to contribute to it yet you can do so by clicking here.
We’re Thankful for….
Don’t forget to check out the Instagram stories of members of our church, who are sharing what they are thankful for on our Newport Church Instagram. You will be encouraged by their stories!
Prayer Changes Things
Let’s never forget the power of prayer as we keep praying that God will turn back the tide of COVID-19 and that His Kingdom come and His will be done in our lives and world.
God is not only able but willing to do exceedingly abundantly above and beyond all that we can ever ask or imagine!
We look forward to you joining us tomorrow either online or at our Newport Church Café!
We are thankful for you and love and appreciate you greatly.
With love and blessings
