Hi Newport Church Family,
We pray that you are well, and in good health and spirit.
It’s hard to believe that we are only three weeks away from Christmas and four weeks away from 2021!
The Hope of Christmas
Even though Christmas this year will be different in many ways, we are praying that in this season the timeless message of the birth of Jesus will cause hope to rise in all of our hearts.
One of the best ways to navigate difficult times is to have hope in our hearts. Hope means that we are hoping for something better, a better day, a better future.
Jesus birth brought great hope to all those who saw and heard of it. Writing prophetically, Isaiah penned these words:
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined. Isaiah 9:2
The light of Jesus’ birth brought great hope and joy to the people of His day and to all who have lived since. Through the many challenges, difficulties and darkest of days Jesus’ light always shines brighter and more constantly than any other.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end
Isaiah 9:6-7
In this Christmas season, may the same hope that filled the hearts of all who witnessed Jesus’ birth in those darkest of days, fill our hearts also with hope, joy and peace.
And lets never forget that, “Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end”!
Weekend Services in December
In these coming weeks we will be watching all of the state and county mandates closely while continuing to have online and in person service options available.
As soon as we are able to meet indoors we will be letting you know!
Newport Church Café
In the meantime we would love to have you join us at our Newport Church Café where we will be screening the service and will serve you a hand crafted coffee and food while you connect and worship with others.
We’re Thankful for….
We hope that you have been enjoying the daily Instagram stories of members of our church who are sharing what they are thankful for. Be sure to check out their stories on our Newport Church Instagram, and give them a shout out. You will be encouraged by their stories and they will be encouraged by your response.
Thanksgiving Offering
A big thank you to all those who have contributed to our Thanksgiving Offering.
If you haven’t had an opportunity to give your offering yet you can do so between now and the end of the year.
We are leaving a legacy for the next generation, as previous generations have done for us, by building a strong healthy church that is a hub of hope to our community and beyond!
Praying at all times
God encourages us:
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:18
Let’s pray that the tide of COVID-19 is turned and eradicated, for righteousness in our nation and that the church worldwide rises up out of this season stronger and better prepared for revival and for God’s Kingdom to come and His will be done.
We look forward to you joining us tomorrow either online or at our Newport Church Café!
We are thankful for you and love and appreciate you greatly.
With love and blessings
